Visit to VIB in Gent
Gent, Belgium– Members of the Mass Spectrometry Facility (MSF) at The International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB) visited the Mass Spectrometry Core Facilities at VIB.

The five-day training was given by VIB experts and held on-site the Proteomics and Metabolomics Cores in Gent, Belgium. The Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie (VIB) in Flanders, Belgium, is a leading research institute with world-class core facilities and is the advanced partner of the IN-MOL-CELL Infrastructure, IIMCB, within the RACE project funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe (Project 101059801).
The visit from Warsaw included a two-day hands-on proteomics training and equipped the MSF with valuable knowledge on key aspects of day-to-day operations within a mass spectrometry core facility. This included:
- project planning
- client interaction
- LC methodology
- MS operation
- quality control assurance
- data analysis and reporting.
