Publication in Communications Biology

Warsaw, Poland – Dr. Vanessa Linke, Head of the Mass Spectrometry Facility (MSF) at The International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB) is among the co-authors of a recently published article in Communications Biology. This marks the first publication of the activities of the MSF since its establishment in 2025.
The study, led by first author Wiktor Antczak and corresponding author Dr. Olga Gewartowska, from the Laboratory of RNA Biology and the Genome Engineering Facility, IN-MOL-CELL, at IIMCB, respectively, is entitled “Degron models: a toolbox for rapid in vivo depletion of essential proteins regulating mRNA metabolism”.
The MSF supported the study by
- analysing the mass spectrometry raw data,
- visualizing the results, as well as
- helping the authors interpret the proteomics data.
The mass spectrometry data was further uploaded to a public repository and can be found here. Similar services are available to our clients as part of any mass spectrometry service, and – in case of re-analysis of existing mass spectrometry data – as Consultations and Data Analysis, in collaboration with the Bioinformatics Facility, IN-MOL-CELL at IIMCB. IN-MOL-CELL Infrastructure is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. IN-MOL-CELL Infrastructure was also funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe (Project 101059801 – RACE) and by RACE-PRIME project carried out within the IRAP programme of the Foundation for Polish Science co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for Smart Economy 2021-2027 (FENG).
